You're on to it Rod!  When I first joined GN and started posting indesputable facts about weights etc I was attacked from all directions by some of the "chosen few".
Many posts were little more than insults in an apparent effort to get me to retaliate, but I ignored these people, happy in the knowledge that ignorance seemed to be their biggest asset.
However, I persisted and eventually many of these people began to see see the light, eventually realising that, with weights etc, I know what I'm talking about, and agreeing with me.
Some were possibly a little embarassed because I regularly got PMs asking for even more advice, with several members saying that they simply couldn't cope with my good advice being disputed on the open forum by those who only think they know stuff, but clearly know little.
There was one member who was forever waffling-on about how to set up one of the vastly over-rated WDH systems, with his method involving the use of a tape measure!
Spare me. There are so many variables in correctly setting a WDH up that anyone who advises the use of a tape measure is waaaay out of his depth, with that suggested method totally useless, even 10-20 years ago.
This fella, to his credit, did eventually agree that a WDH does NOT change towball weight.
Never has, Never will.
Over the time I was a GN member I spent countless hours helping fellow members, even travelling to visit them at their homes to correctly set-up their vans, but when I simply re-posted a no-nonsense video clearly outlining the stupidity and futility of Australia spending BILLIONS of dollars in a vain attempt to change what is no more than a natural event that has recurred over millions of years, I had my account deleted.
Only the brain-dead would not understand the absolute stupidity of Australia closing a miserable couple of coal-fired power stations whilst exporting MILLIONS of tons of coal to China, a country where there are 2 NEW POWER STATIONS being built EVERY WEEK. Derrrr!
