I have written privately to Cindy twice in recent years, both detailed and considered rationales regarding why I felt she was too trigger happy with so called "political" posts. She did not trouble to reply on either occasion.
The GN is a commercial operation and Cindy appears to believe that any form of conflict will drive away "Clickers". What she fails to appreciate is that unless the forum has regular, active and interesting posts people will rapidly become bored and drift away - and that applies not only to the small core of active posters but more so to the much larger group of clickers.
Unfortunately such a death for a forum is a slow one and by the time management realise what's happening it's too late, the interesting people are long gone and will not return.
Trying to change that mindset especially when it's accompanied by the natural female aversion to risk is, I discovered, a very uphill if not impossible task which is why I left the forum.
I think Possum is wasting his time.
