I've just read an old thread on Whirlpool about kite flying... and now I have this almost irresistible urge to make or buy a kite. Haven't done that since the children were small.
Trouble is I know I'll feel a right prat out there alone, an old man, flying a kite! Anyone know of a "Rent a Kid" service? :)

Mike out there in the middle of the piney woods, who's going to be around when you fly your kite? Go for it if it makes you happy. PS Pollies have been kite flying for years, and getting handsomely paid to do it!!!!!

Years ago I did the same but progressed further. I actually bought one. I don't recollect what inspired me to buy it, but I never used it. I finished up giving it to one of the neighbours with small children.
Now that I have grandchildren, maybe I should buy another one.
