Hi all, I used to be a great fan of the Olympic Games but I find that now, at the tender age of 86, I cannot get excited at the prospect anymore. Dunno why. Surely can't be an "age" thing? Does anyone else find this to be the case, or is it just me? ?

Screaming commentators endlessly telling us how great the Australian competitors are and how lucky the rest of the world is to be able to even share the same stage as the Australians is sickening. Wouldn't walk over the road to see the games, let alone spend hours staring adoringly at a TV screen when Australians are competing. No longer sports, but I was interested to read of how the Canadian Soccer(?) team has been banned after being caught using a drone to spy on competitors' traing sessions. Sport? Not any more.

I'm another one who can't get excited about sporting events these days. I think a large part of it is the growth of commercialism. As for the Olympics, I'd like to see a reversion to earlier times when there were less events. The latest absurdity is Olympic "breaking". WTF?
