Recently there was a case here in WA of a couple of immigrant children drowning in the Swan River. Now we have all the do-gooders bleating that the Gummint should have warned the parents that drownings are an ever-present danger in this country. Spare me! Is it not obvious that rivers carry water, and that kids can drown in water? Others have been crying for fences to be erected to prevent kids from accessing the river. Yeah, right. Will there ever be a time when PARENTS are made responsible for their chid's safety instead of blaming others for what was nothing short of negligence on the part of the parents. Manslaughter? The current trend to blame anybody, everybody, for what was nothing more than a parent's negligence is sickening. NO Cheers.

The word responsibility today has a totally different meaning than the one intended. The modern day interpretation of the word is, simply, "Not my". I deplore the way that society today has given up respect for others, and the propensity to blame others for their own mistakes. It is the easy gutless way out.
