Well "trapped" is a bit over the top but I left my secret spot in the forest near St Arnaud on Tuesday to head to SW Victoria for the summer and decided to break the journey here on Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday evening the thunderstorms started then, overnight, the wind got up... and blew... and blew... then blew some more! And I decided the best place for me was right here until the weather eased. It's a pleasant spot but being by the lake means the winds are at their worse, I've hardly been outside the van for two days and when I do I have to lean into the wind to walk.
Oh well... the BOM predicts the wind will drop a little around midnight tonight so I'll probably head off again tomorrow or Saturday - there's no rush, I'm a nomad, I do not have time constraints any longer
And I've met a pleasant young couple with their children who are stuck here too.
Lake Lonsdale is 10km west of Stawell, Victoria.
