Another John Grisham book: The Summons. About the doings of a small town judge. Just started so no comment yet. Finished reading The Summons. A very easy read, with a great twist at the end. That's two Grisham books now. Both written in very much the same style. Looking forward to another of his books.

Received a copy of Ulysses by James Joyce for Christmas.
Three kg, 960 pages! perhaps I've bitten off more than I can chew.

I do most of my reading in bed before lights out, a 3kg book will be pretty hard to handle, maybe a book rest.

Just started Spearfield's Daughter by Jon Cleary. About a woman making it in a man's world. It has started off in the 60's with the backdrop of the newspaper world.

Hello all, over here from GN.
I'm sometimes tempted to reread an Alistair Maclean book from my youth, see what bI think of it now if you like. Grisham is a very easy read I like them. Are there any Don Winslow fans here? try The Power Of The Dog, or The Force.

Reading now " American CULTS,Cabals, corruption and Charismatic Leaders" By Jim Willis. While I don't agree with everything he writes,it is a very good read.

Re-reading; Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch. Goodreads
I cannot remember how I discovered this series of books and its author but had I simply read a review I would have thought "Not my cup of tea" and ignored it - I am so glad I didn't. BenA is an experienced author and TV scriptwriter (Dr Who) and uses the English language in a competent and relaxed fashion, his characters are very believable and character development is excellent. Plots are interesting and progress well. The magic component is used in a sensible and conceivable way. This sort of thing may not be your normal reading material but it's well worth giving a try.
