For God's sake don't critique my Whirlpool posts here! I can't handle two lots of criticism on the one forum! :)
Don't remember. What did I say? I doubt I'd have agreed to that.
Or course some rules make sense, many, even most, do that's not my interest; rather it was in the psychology of people who *always* feel the should obey rules just because they are there. Incidentally this query was sparked by a comment I made on Wiki Camps which I'll link to when the thread is exhausted.

No. Not something you posted or answered. I mentioned the connection because perhaps you saw that post. It was probably a year ago and was closed after a few responses.

In light of other responses and examples, I realise that I don't strictly follow all rules. However, I don't feel that it's OK.

I don't always follow the rules but I suspect humanity in general don't either.

I don't always follow the rules but I suspect humanity in general don't either. Agreed! Many people seem to believe that rules are only for others.

That was, sort of, the point of this thread Yobarr, do you obey all rules?

That was, sort of, the point of this thread Yobarr, do you obey all rules? Naturally I obey all the rules Mike, or at least the ones that suit me! Rarely do I exceed 270km/hr on the open road and always I obey speed limits in urban areas, particularly around schools. For some unknown reason I always completely stop at "Stop" signs, just something I've done since I first got my licence. Rarely do I exceed the 130-160 ton limits on the Roadtrain, and I usually obey driving hours limitations. Sort of! Another rule I never break is that which says not to cross unbroken "no overtaking" lines. Dunno why, but always obey that rule. Disabled parking bays are another "No go" for me, and I get angry when I see entitled Madams and their ilk treating these bays as their own private parking areas. Nuff for now.

In my opinion anyone who obeys all rules would benefit from a decent number of sessions with a psychiatrist.

Instead of starting a new thread, I’ll just put this here. This really plsses me off. I’m no superhero, I’ve never been trained in unarmed combat, a 14 year old male student was in a Home Ec class with a carving knife threatening staff and students, as the Head Teacher the aide called me, I managed to take the knife off the kid and marched him down to the Principals office. No one was injured. How the F these fully trained people couldn’t disarm a very old frail woman who has to use a walking frame to get around, shoot her with a taser and she eventually dies. Guilt of manslaughter is the minimum, murder should be the real charge. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/nov/14/clare-nowland-kristian-white-manslaughter-trial-tasering-paramedic-evidence-ntwnfb

I was thinking of posting that story for the same reason. They were apparently small knives as well. Even if a frontal disarming was difficult, just work a way to get behind her while she threatens someone else.
I think we will be better off without that cop on the beat for a long time.

I understand and share the emotion but please see my post regarding sub judice and hold back further posts until a verdict is returned.
And, remember, depending which way the verdict goes the laws of defamation may apply.
